Bri motioned and seconded by Rob B to approve; Passed unanimously V. Reports A. Officer Kenneth Hockless, Baytown PD 1. Crime Report from Feb through May 20 of 2023 2. Reinforced that the neighborhood residents MUST make reports 3. 4100 Allenbrook (assisted living); 1000 Birdsong (assisted living); 1500 Birdsong (traffic stops) are included in the crime report 4. Mid-June through August is highest point for crime; be cautious and make sure all doors (cars and residents) are locked; report any suspicious behavior 5. Teenage curfew (up to 16 years old) a) Sunday through Thursday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am b) Friday and Saturday 11:00 pm to 6:00 am B. Block Reports 1. N/A: see below C. Team Reports 1. N/A VI. Board of Directors Reports A. VP Report 1. Allenbrook Sidewalk a) Site was inspected by city and city project manager agreed repairs need to be made 2. Ideas for Neighborhood Watch Teams a) City government contact needed to find restrictions, requirements, etc. B. Presidents Report 1. Block Party Scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd at Allenbrook Park a) Tacos, trackless train, inflatables for the kids b) Excellent time to meet neighbors and “bond” as a neighborhood VII. Scheduled New Business A. Discussion of role of “Block Representative” in the Allenbrook Neighborhood Association 1. Block representatives are established in our Bylaws to work with Board Members to help promote the welfare and quality of life for all residents 2. Block representatives are volunteers who serve as a voice for neighbors who do not attend our regular meetings a) Call for volunteers (1) Rob B volunteered to act as Block Rep for Edgebrook West (2) Ruben C volunteered to act as Bock Rep for Allenbrook Drive VIII. Old Business A. Discussion of Meeting Location and Times 1. Motion from last meeting was postponed until this month to discuss the pros and cons of moving meeting to new location 2. Suggestion was made to move the new location to Como en Mexico at 407 W. Baker Ste. Q, Baytown, TX 77521 a) Motion by Bri and seconded by Denise to move meeting location to Como En Mexico; passed by Majority by Members IX. Members Forum A. Member Frank W. wanted to discuss speed bumps added to area 1. Concerned about them being added in front of driveways 2. Discussion about location at entrances to neighborhood 3. High cost and approval by city needed B. Discussion about Garth and Baker Lights 1. Congestion a major issue but unavoidable at the time X. Other Announcements 1. Reminder: In accordance with the required 61 Day Notice provision of the Bylaws for Amendments, a motion was approved by the membership on April 17th to set Monday, June 19, 2023 (next month’s meeting) to vote on the amendment to the Bylaws described below: a) Article VI: Officers, Section 2: Duties, Vice President (1) From: “...responsible for publicity and meeting notifications.” (2) To: “...responsible for association notices and communications.” XI. Next Meeting Date is set for Monday, June 19, 2023 from 6:30 pm at Como En Mexico (new location) XII. Adjournment A. Michael moved and seconded by Ruben to adjourn B. Passed unanimously C.
