The Allenbrook Neighborhood Association
Allenbrook Neighbors—the Allenbrook Neighborhood Association—exists to promote the welfare and improve the quality of life for all residents and homeowners of homes in the Allenbrook Neighborhood.
Residents met for the first time on December 12, 2022 to consider forming an association and met again on February 13, 2023. At the February 13th meeting, the residents in attendance voted to meet again on March 20, 2023 to consider actually forming an association by adopting bylaws and electing officers. At the March 20 meeting, which was held at nearby Luby’s Cafeteria, bylaws were proposed and discussed one-by-one; appropriate amendments were suggested and made by the twenty member/residents of the neighborhood who were in attendance, and then adopted unanimously by those same members. Bri A. of Meadowbrook Dr. was elected President and Bobby J. of Friars Ln. was elected Vice-President.
Membership is automatic for adults who own homes and/or reside in one of the homes within the boundaries of Birdsong Drive on the North, Allenbrook Drive on the East, and Edgebrook Drive on the West and on the South. There are no dues or fees for membership in this association. The Allenbrook Neighborhood Association is not a “Homeowner’s Association” (HOA); there are no legal documents specifying “Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions” which would be the teeth of a legal HOA. This Association cannot be converted to an HOA; an entirely new set of bylaws would have to be written and approved by a majority of owners of homes in the neighborhood.
